Guitarist Joe Satriani has sued Coldplay for copyright infringement. You be the judge.
They're obviously very similar, but the melody is so generic it's hard to believe Satriani can win this.

I Satriani going after Codlplay on this? Or is this a curious third party's observation? Personally, I think this happens all the time what with millions of bands in the world, the same structure of a 3 minute song is bound to come up more than once. I agree that the two tracks overlayed sound cool.

Yeah, he sued them for infringement. I agree--most kinds of music are built on a formula, so a similarity like this shouldn't be too surprising.
